Museum displays Global Power. New letters for the Barksdale Global Power Museum reflect the buildings natural surrounding on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Oct. 2. The museum was re-dedicated to broaden the scope of history and to present a new storyline with a new focus. Currently the museum has 28 aircraft and 120 displays.
Visitors must have a base pass or someone on base who will vouch for their need to gain base access. The former 8th Air Force Museum officially changed its name to the Barksdale Global Power Museum in October 2012, allowing the museum to focus more on the broader global strike mission. The museum recently completed a nearly three-year renovation project, giving the galleries an updated look and new displays.
