Mar 04, 2005 · Be Cool was amusing, but not really very good. From the first scene it was filled with silly references to other movies-especially Pulp Fiction. Starring an unbelievably hip all-star cast, including John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Andr? 3000, Steven Tyler and The Rock, and bursting with the hottest music in the biz, Be Cool is the wildly hilarious tale about a gangster turned music mogul and what it takes to be number one with a bullet.
COOL, this is the perfect sequel to get shorty and give us more of John Travolta as the Mobster man of fame and king of Cool. This has an incredible cast of comics and action heroes that it only made it more fun to watch. Travolta kills it and his co-star so much sexier.

Despite featuring a great cast and a talented director in F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton), the movie just didn't work. The humor often failed to land and it felt leaden compared to the ...
Even though the film clearly deviates from the novel, there were some moments in the film which serves as a nod to the source novel: 1) The burn-out photo that Tiffany has (later picked up by Chili) is a nod to the fact that in the novel, the Russians operate a one-hour photo shop instead of the pawn shop.
