Benjamin "Ben" Browning is a contestant from Survivor: Samoa.

His abrasive personality and controversial statements rubbed several people, most notably Jaison Robinson, the wrong way. His comments and rivalry with Jaison led to him being the third person voted out.

    Ben Browning (28)

    Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.

    Occupation: Bar Manager

Ben Browning is a transplanted country boy helping to run some of the most successful bars and restaurants in Los Angeles. A bar manager, Ben is often seen with a girl on each arm and boldly claims he's never been rejected. "I'm one of those people that just get lucky for some reason, if I want it, I do what I have to do to get it."

Growing up in Kirksville, Missouri, Ben's parents raised him with a strict set of morals and instilled in him a strong work ethic. His parents would always be there to whip Ben into shape whenever necessary.

Ben has worked hard for all he has in life and says "I don't like cry babies, I like people who work their asses off, like people from where I'm from." He is also quick to admit that the one thing he can't stand is "whiners and wimps."

Ben was initially placed on the Foa Foa tribe. During the First Impressions twist on Day 1, Ben was displeased with not being selected to be the tribe chief, as the tribe instead chose Mick Trimming for the role. At camp, Ben decided to boss Mick around as the tribe built their shelter, much to Mick's annoyance, while Ben later made an alliance with Russell Hantz. Ben was also able to start the fire at camp, stating multiple times that he was the only tribe member able to start a fire. The following morning, Ben got into an argument with Marisa Calihan over boiling the tribe's drinking water, much to Russell H.'s glee. After Foa Foa lost the first Immunity Challenge on Day 3, Russell H. convinced Ben to vote for Marisa because she was untrustworthy. At Tribal Council, Ben joined Russell H. in berating Marisa, who, although standing her ground, was voted out.

Ben's alliance with Russell H. further extended to an all-male alliance within the tribe. At the combined Reward and Immunity Challenge on Day 5, Ben was determined to do what ever it took to win. As the challenge became more and more physical, host Jeff Probst warned both tribes that the next dirty play would result in that person being removed from the challenge. In the next round, Ben's physicality resulted in him being thrown out after he pushed Yasmin Giles of Galu into the fence and kicked Russell Swan in the leg, though a defiant Ben believed that he did nothing wrong. After Foa Foa lost the challenge, things got worse for the tribe as they lost Mike Borassi after he was medically evacuated from the game.

Due to a twist that resulted in a member of Galu being sent to observe Foa Foa until after Tribal Council, Galu's chief Russell S. sent Yasmin to Foa Foa. Back at camp, Ben and Yasmin did not get along, which was made worse when Yasmin took Ben aside to talk to him about cheap shots and fair play. Ben started calling Yasmin names such as "ghetto trash", which annoyed many of his tribemates, especially Jaison Robinson. That night, Ben annoyed his tribe even further as he continued to chop wood as the tribe attempted to sleep. Although Ashley Trainer and Betsy Bolan gunned for Ben for his behavior, the tribe voted out weak link Betsy at Tribal Council.

Ben continued rubbing his tribemates the wrong way, stating that he was the only one who was doing any work at camp and that if he was voted out, his tribe would starve. Jaison started talking to his tribemates about voting out Ben for his attitude and for his perceived racist comments towards Yasmin. After Foa Foa again lost the Immunity Challenge on Day 7, the tribe had to decide whether to vote out Ashley for her weakness, or Ben for his attitude. At Tribal Council, Ben sealed his fate by arguing with Jaison about his treatment of Yasmin and was subsequently voted out.
