The first nine counties in the territory to be created, in 1852, were Bernalillo, Doña Ana, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Santa Ana, Santa Fe, Socorro, Taos, and Valencia Counties. Mora County was created in 1860.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The listing included 21 contributing buildings on 21.5 acres (8.7 ha). [1] It was rebuilt in 1734 by Fray Diego Arias de Espinoza.

March 15, 1996. The Roosevelt School in Bernalillo, New Mexico was begun as a Federal Emergency Relief Administration project in 1935 and completed as a Works Progress Administration project in 1936. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. [1]
