Biografie. Gian Galeazzo Visconti a fost fiul cel mare al lui Galeazzo al II-lea Visconti și al celei de-a doua soții a sa, Bianca de Savoia. În ianuarie 1356, la vârsta de 5 ani, a primit titlul de cavaler de la împăratul romano-german Carol al IV-lea în timpul vizitei acestuia la Milano.
