Bickelhaupt Arboretum is nestled on a hill in a quiet residential community just west of downtown Clinton. We strolled around on a peaceful Saturday morning and had the grounds to ourselves. There are many plant collections on display including daylilies, peonies, hostas, roses, and conifers.
The Bickelhaupt Arboretum or "Arb" as it is affectionately known, is the single best spot to get out in nature in the city of Clinton. More than a park, it feels like a nature preserve right in the middle of town. The 14-some acres are laid out on hilly terrain with a small creek winding through it.
