The Bickelhaupt Arboretum or "Arb" as it is affectionately known, is the single best spot to get out in nature in the city of Clinton. More than a park, it feels like a nature preserve right in the middle of town. The 14-some acres are laid out on hilly terrain with a small creek winding through it.
Bickelhaupt Arboretum is nestled on a hill in a quiet residential community just west of downtown Clinton. We strolled around on a peaceful Saturday morning and had the grounds to ourselves. There are many plant collections on display including daylilies, peonies, hostas, roses, and conifers.

It is wonderfully developed and maintained in an area of about a half mile by a quarter mile. It is a great spot for weddings, picnics, group gatherings. It has an amazing display of flowers, herbs, rare and exotic bushes, ferns and trees. There is a picturesque creek running through it and frequent art installations.
