May 12, 2011 · Todman met Goodson in 1941 on a WABC radio quiz show called The Battle of the Boroughs, for which Todman was the writer and Goodson the emcee. They began working together on game show ideas, and in 1946, after World War II, Todman sold Goodson’s creation, Winner Take All, to CBS’ new television network. It premiered in July 1948.
