Birkdale School is a Christian school for boys aged 4 to 18, with a co-educational sixth form. It offers a range of facilities and support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Birkdale School is an HMC day school for 750 pupils, co-educational at the Prep School and with a Sixth Form of around 200 pupils. The age 4–11 Prep School is on a separate campus nearby. (For further details see IAPS section.) Birkdale is in the process of becoming fully co-educational by admitting girls into Year 7 in 2024.
