This is Moussorgsky's main opera. I have always liked Boris Godounov. The Russian language is a challenge but very intriguing because my grandfather spoke fluent Russian. The orchestration is tremendous with Valery Gergiev. It is suited to this piece. I would recommend this piece to any opera buff.
