About Us. Built in 1855 by Judge John Bragg, the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion is a 13,000 square foot Greek Revival facing Springhill Avenue in Mobile, Alabama. Judge Bragg built the home for his wife and family to enjoy Mobile’s social season, Thanksgiving through Mardi Gras.

The mansion features double parlors, a lavish dining room and grounds with Mobile's trademark live oaks and azaleas. Historical tours offered on the hour, Tues - Fri, 10am - 4pm. The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion is a historic house museum located in Mobile. It is named for two of its owners: circuit-court judge John Bragg, who owned the home from 1855-1878, and Minnie Mitchell, who purchased the home in 1931 and restored it to its original appearance. The home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
