Breaking Ground is a pioneer in the development of permanent and transitional supportive housing. Using innovative financing and historic restoration, we revitalize buildings and neighborhoods. Each year, we work to increase the supply of affordable housing for those with the greatest economic need.
Building and Restoring Lives. Breaking Ground offers affordable housing for low-income working professionals and people exiting homelessness, some of whom live with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, or physical disabilities. In addition, most of our buildings offer a wide array of on-site support services, recreational activities, and amenities.
Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
