Oct 9, 2023 · The global diving industry is mourning the loss of technical diving pioneer Bret Gilliam, who died yesterday (8 October) aged 72. Earlier this year he had suffered a significant stroke that led to a form of vascular dementia, and he had sadly not been well for some time.
Widely sought as an expert witness and litigation strategist in diving, watersports, maritime, shipping, crewing, safety protocols and emergency medical response, he has appeared in nearly 400 legal cases since 1973 in the U.S. and International court systems.
