The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States, dating back to 1876. The Cutlery opened its main factory in the Village of Camillus in 1894 and produced millions of knives until it filed for bankruptcy in 2007.
Camillus was a major supplier of pocket knives and straight knives to the allied war effort during WWII, producing TL-29 electricians knives, engineers knives and Mark 2 fighting knives as well.
