He was the son of Charles VI, Roi de France and Isabelle von Bayern.3 He married Maria d'Anjou, daughter of Louis II, Duc d'Anjou and Yolande de Aragón, on 18 December 1422. He died on 21 July 1461 at age 58 at Bourges, Orléanais, France.
