    Chieko Nakakita (中北千枝子, Nakakita Chieko, birth name: Chieko Tanaka (田中千枝子), May 21, 1926 - September 13, 2005) is a Japanese actress and wife of film producer Tomoyuki Tanaka. She joined Toho after finishing high school in 1944, and appeared in Akira Kurosawa’s One Wonderful Sunday in 1947. She also appeared in a supporting role in several films by...

    Born in Tokyo in 1926, Nakakita joined Toho in 1944 after graduating from the Japan Film School. In the same year, she made her first film debut in "Nichijō no tatakahi" (directed by Yasujiro Shimazu). In the late 1940s, Nakakita both starred in Kurosawa's One Wonderful Sunday in 1947 as Yuzo' fiancée Masako and Shirō Toyoda's My Love is Beyond The Mountains where she plays as a devoted nurse to the doctor who is a wife who plays the role of Yoshi Ikebe at the Kanmura clinic and suffers from the conflict between personal love and professional ethics. After that, she appeared mainly appeared in Mikio Naruse's films such as "Repast", "Floating Clouds" and "Nagareru". She was also popular as "Nissei's Auntie" in the Nippon Life commercials and advertisement, which appeared from 1969 to 1986. During the 1980s, Nakakita made a special appearance as an insurer in "Tora-san's Song of Love" in 1983.

    In addition, starting around 2009, several versions of the Trygroup Inc., which used video from the crime drama "Tokusou saizensen" which once appeared as a guest, have been shown. She passed away at her home in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo on September 13, 2005 from an acute myocardial infarction at the age of 79.
