Earling Carothers "Jim" Garrison was the District Attorney for the City of New Orleans, Louisiana from 1961 until 1973. He investigated and prosecuted Clay Shaw for conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy and he was portrayed in Oliver Stone's film, JFK .
