Founded in 1828 and carved out of the wilderness, it had by 1840 become a leading inland cotton port with a thriving textile.

Columbus is a city in Georgia 's Classic Heartland, near the Chattahoochee River and bordering Alabama. It is known for its Southern hospitality, unique attractions, and proximity to Fort Benning.
Columbus is the second-largest city in Georgia. When I discovered Columbus’s treasure trove of attractions, I knew why it’s growing rapidly in popularity.
