Synopsis. In the beginning we see Derice Bannock (Leon) running across the island of Jamaica. Derice is training for the 1988 Olympic Games, and hopes to be a gold-medal winner just like his father. Before the trial run, Derice visits his friend Sanka Coffee (Doug E. Doug), who is competing in a pushcart race.
