General Information. Each county has a Court of Common Pleas held by one or more judges. Each judge must be an attorney at law in the state of Ohio for at least six years preceding their appointment or commencement of their term as judge. Each judge shall be elected for a six-year term immediately preceding the year in which the term commences.
