The beach is also interspersed with breakwaters at regular intervals. The back of the beach tends to consist of large pebbles and shingle then into good, firm golden sand, as the tide recedes. A great place for a walk or whatever, at low tide. Behind the beach, at each end of the town, is a row of colourful beach huts.
