History. In 1965, guitarists Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortuna, along with bassist Curtis Bachman, were invited to join a band called the Centuries. Giammarese and Bachman, plus keyboardist Dennis Miccolis, later became members of another band, the Pulsations, whose members included drummer John Poulos and vocalists George LeGros and Dennis Tufano.

These include Curtis Bachman, John Turner, Tom Radtke, Tom Osfar, John Cammelot, Laurie Beebe Lewis, Barb Unger-Wertico, Larry Nestor, Bob Abrams, Dave Zane, and Bruce “Rocky” Penn. Keyboardist/vocalist Bruce Soboroff has backed Carl and Nick since 1986 and Tom Scheckel played drums from 1986–2010 and rejoined the band in 2023.
During the past 3 decades, many fine musicians have joined Giammarese and Fortuna, to help stay true to The Buckinghams' sound through the years. In the beginning, drummer John Poulos personally recruited the band members ... first myself and George LeGros, to be the singers in his new band, The Pulsations. John and I then added Carl Giammarese and Curtis Bachman from the band The Centuries, with whom Nick Fortuna played rhythm guitar.
May 1, 2021 · Curtis Bachman was invited to join them, so that left The Centuries needing a bass player, so Nick went from guitar to bass. He'd only been playing bass a little while when The Pulsations (John Poulos, Dennis Tufano, and others) invited Carl to play guitar with them.
