Dankwarderode castle (or Burg) is at the heart of Brunswick (Braunschweig), in the castle square (Burgplatz). The square has other historic buildings and the castle is part of the city-run museum. Closed on Mondays. Open Wednesday 1-8 pm and Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm. The castle has the feel of knights in armour.
