Danny La Rue, OBE (born Daniel Patrick Carroll, 26 July 1927 – 31 May 2009) was an Irish-English singer and entertainer, best known for his on-stage drag persona. He performed in drag and also as himself in theatrical productions, television shows and film.
Danny La Rue was a British-Irish actor and drag queen who performed in various shows and movies, such as Our Miss Fred and Cinderella: The Shoe Must Go On. He was born in 1927 in Ireland and died in 2009 in England, and was a member of the British Catholic Stage Guild.
