David VIII, from the Bagrationi dynasty, was king (mepe) of Central and Eastern Georgia in 1292–1302 and 1308–1311. Eldest son of Demetrius II of Georgia by his Trapezuntine wife, he was appointed by the Ilkhan ruler Gaykhatu as king of Georgia as reward for his military service during the Rümelian uprising in 1293.
