Synopsis. Bill ( Richard Gere ), his girlfriend Abby ( Brooke Adams) and his young teen sister Linda ( Linda Manz) are forced to flee Chicago when Bill accidentally kills the foreman ( Stuart Margolin) at the steel mill at which he works. They hop a train and eventually arrive at a wheat farm in the Texas panhandle.
