Summaries. After a woman he meets is murdered, a soon-to-ship-out sailor has until dawn to find the killer, aided by a weary dance hall girl. Jan 4, 2013 · What exactly is this film about? Bill Williams is a sailor on leave who is due to catch a bus at dawn at the end of his leave (hence the title). He awakes after a night of excess with $1,400 in his pocket and vague memories of where it came from, though he remembers being lured to a womans apartment.
