Mini Bio. Dean Felber is the bassist and one of the founding members of the two-time Grammy Award winning band, Hootie & the Blowfish. The band has sold upwards of 29 million records since their inception in 1986 and has won a multitude of awards, including ASCAP Songwriter of the Year.
The pair began playing cover tunes as the Wolf Brothers. Eventually, they collaborated with bassist Dean Felber, a former high school bandmate of Bryan's, and Brantley Smith, a drummer. In 1986, they adopted the name Hootie & the Blowfish, a conjunction of the nicknames of two of their college friends. [3]
