Denver Pyle was an American television and film actor popularly recognized as ‘Jesse Duke’ from the American action-comedy television series ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’, which aired on CBS between 1979 and 1985. He also played the character of ‘Briscoe Darling Jr.’ in the American situation comedy show ‘The Andy Griffith Show’.

Denver Dell Pyle (May 11, 1920 – December 25, 1997) [1] was an American actor, businessman and director. He was well known for his roles as Briscoe Darling Jr. in The Andy Griffith Show, as Jesse Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard during 1979–1985, as Mad Jack in the NBC television series The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams .
