Oct 19, 2023 · There are 101 departments in France, and I live in the 01, the Ain. One of the few exceptions is Paris. We just say "Paris", not 75... The 101 departments in France are grouped into 18 regions ( read about those here) but each department is distinct, often with its own foods and traditions and, of course, scenery.
