May 2, 2024 · Dick Durbin (born November 21, 1944, East St. Louis, Illinois, U.S.) is an American politician who represented Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives (1983–97) and in the U.S. Senate (1997– ), where he served as the Democratic majority whip (2005–15) and minority whip (2015– ).
