An orphaned dinosaur raised by lemurs joins an arduous trek to a sanctuary after a meteorite shower destroys his family home. During an attack on a pack of Iguanodon, an egg is separated and ends up with the possession of a group of lemurs.
When a meteor shower destroys their home, Aladar and his family follow a herd of dinosaurs heading for the safety of the "nesting grounds." Along the way, Aladar befriends Baylene, an elderly brachiosaur; Eema, an unstoppable styracosaur; and Neera, a feisty fellow iguanodon.
