  2. Mar 16, 2006 · In 1955, Dortch Stove Works was sold to Magic Chef, a stove company based out of St. Louis. Magic Chef continued to manufacture stoves at the facility until the early 1960s. Even today, as you pass by The Factory at Franklin, if you look real close, you can still see a faint imprint bearing the name "Dortch Stove Works."
