Drax is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, about 6 miles (10 km) south-east of Selby, best known today as the site of Drax power station. It was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1 April 1974, then part of the Selby District of North Yorkshire until 1 April 2023.

Jul 12, 2022 · Drax has submitted plans to build its multi-billion-pound bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) project at its North Yorkshire power station. Work to build BECCS could start as soon as 2024 with the creation of tens of thousands of jobs across the North. Submission incorporates feedback obtained during two major public consultations.
