DREW- A massive fire took down Drew high school in October of last year, and people in the community say it was a big piece of history in the small town of drew. Harvey Burchfield is a 1971 graduate of Drew high school, two years after Drew school system was ordered to desegregate.
May 7, 2024 · The remnants of the former Drew High School building were demolished this past week. The shuttered school was set ablaze back in October 2023 and was totaled. Following that Sunday night fire, six juveniles were arrested for the arson. The building and property are owned by the Sunflower County Consolidated School District.
