EDGWARE. The Ancient parish of Edgware (fn. 1) lay on the northern boundary of Middlesex. The extreme width of the parish was 1½ mile and the extreme length 2½ miles.
A History of. Transformation. 400 years ago Edgware was a resting place for pilgrims travelling along the Roman Road on their way from London to St Albans. It grew into a village, then a small market town with traders and a cattle fair but it remained a farming community well into the 1800s.
