Edward Van Sloan (born Edward Paul Van Sloun; November 1, 1882 – March 6, 1964) was an American character actor best remembered for his roles in the Universal Studios horror films such as Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), and The Mummy (1932).
Edward Van Sloan was a US character actor who appeared in many horror and suspense films, often as the antagonist of monsters. He played Van Helsing in Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1931), and also appeared in The Mummy (1932) and Dracula's Daughter (1936).
