He then starred in McHale's Navy (1964) and has a small role in The Flight of the Phoenix (1965). In 1967, he is co-starred in The Dirty Dozen (1967) as General Worden. Borgnine co-starred with William Holden in The Wild Bunch (1969), he played Dutch Engstrom. Another of his best work was in The Poseidon Adventure (1972), with Gene Hackman.
