The year 2021 will mark the 40th anniversary of Bob Marley’s death on May 11, 1981, a date which gains even more significance this year because it marks the first time that all of the original Wailers are dead, given that Bunny Wailer passed away earlier this year.

Peter Tosh (1944-1987) started out in the early 1960s as one of the core members of The Wailers, alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. The Wailers began as a ska vocal group (they had a major hit with “Simmer Down”), but basically invented reggae when they slowed the up-tempo ska down to a rocksteady pace.
