Species. E. deglupta is a large, fast-growing, evergreen tree with flaking bark revealing bright green inner bark turning dark green, blue, purple, and orange before maturing to maroon or reddish-brown. Ovate to broadly lance-shaped, aromatic, mid-green juvenile leaves become lighter, thicker, glossy, and ovate with age.
