Evelyn Daw (born Evelyn Pearl Shuck; November 16, 1912 – November 29, 1970), [1] was an American singer and actress. Early years. Born Evelyn Pearl Shuck, Daw was the daughter of Walter Shuck and Edith Miller Shuck of Geddes, South Dakota, both of whose families were pioneers who settled in South Dakota. [2] .

Evelyn Daw, a 20-year-old legit soprano from Geddes, South Dakota, was singing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic when she was "discovered" by director Schertzinger. [3] [4] This was her first film, and she would go on to make one more the next year, Panamint's Bad Man, [6] a singing cowboy film. [7]
