HBO Max reboots Gossip Girl for the Insta generation

After nine years away from Constance Billard, we’re being taken back to find a new group of uber-wealthy students getting trolled by – yep, you guessed it – XOXO, Gossip Girl. Actively embracing LGTBQ issues and the perspectives of POC, get ready for this Gen Z reboot of your favorite guilty pleasure. Read on as we explain how to watch Gossip Girl online now with a subscription to HBO Max.
Finally, something to gab about! Episode one of the revamped Gossip Girl debuts on HBO Max July 8, with the next batch of episodes being made available every Thursday over five weeks. However, the series will be on hiatus from August 12 until the fall, when the remaining six episodes will be aired.
There are two subscription options for HBO Max: the $9.99 a month ‘With Ads’ plan, and the ‘Ad-Free’ $14.99 option. You’ll get access to a huge library of top-drawer content with both: revered HBO shows like Game of Thrones, Flight of the Conchords, Euphoria and The Wire, a richly curated selection of titles from Turner Classic Movies, plus iconic films and TV series from Warner Brothers’ 100-year library. What you won’t get unless you opt for the ‘Ad-Free’ plan, however, are Warner Brothers 2021 movie releases, available on HBO Max day-and-date with their cinema release, for a month from their debut. By paying $14.99 a month, you can experience the excitement of opening night from home, with vibrant musical In the Heights currently available to stream in 4K Ultra HD and with Dolby Atmos sound, and Space Jam: A New Legacy up next. But, if you’re not impressed by the service, you can cancel whenever you like.
The 7-day HBO Max free trial has long since been discontinued. But, if you're a current HBO Now subscriber or pay for HBO through your cable provider, you might actually be entitled to HBO Max at no extra cost.
Devices compatible with HBO Max include iPhone and Android devices, Apple and Samsung TVs, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, Chromecast and Chromebooks, and laptops and PCS. HBO Max on Roku and Amazon Fire Stick is also available.
Further north and fans of this teen drama can watch all new Gossip Girl with a subscription to Crave, Canada’s homegrown streaming platform. It’ll follow the same release pattern as the US, with episode one available on Thursday July 8, and subsequent episodes released weekly.
You’ll need to opt for the Movies + HBO subscription to stream Gossip Girl, which will cost CND$19.98 (plus tax) a month. But first you can enjoy Crave's 7-day free trial, available to new subscribers.
While dates are yet to be confirmed, Gossip Girl 2.0 has been acquired by the BBC for broadcast "later this year" in the UK, where BBC iPlayer will be the place to view episodes live or on-demand.
Additionally, all 121 episodes of the original series will be added to iPlayer for your binge-watching pleasure soon, featuring leads Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and You star Penn Badgley.
Binge is bringing new Gossip Girl home for fans Down Under. It will debut on July 8 (meaning Aussies might even get it before American viewers), with new episodes following on a weekly basis.
From only $10 AUS a month, it’s a highly affordable VOD service, and new members are entitled to a generous 14-day free trial, meaning that you won’t pay a thing until the trial period ends. The Basic plan provides a single stream in SD quality, and you can upgrade to Standard and Premium plans if you want additional streams and better video quality.
