One of the best centerpieces of historical Boston is the section known as Faneuil Hall Marketplace. There are several rows of buildings. Many shops and eateries are located here. It is a great place to also find souvenirs. It is located along the red brick Freedom trail and between Boston Commons and the North End.
Historic Faneuil hall has served as a marketplace and meeting hall since 1742 when it was built by Peter Faneuil. It provided a platform for the country’s most famous orators. It is where colonists first protested the Sugar Act in 1764 and established the doctrine of “no taxation without representation”.

In addition to housing the marketplace and hall, Faneuil Hall today now serves at a gateway visitor center to the National Parks of Boston, which includes an education and film space.
