Sep 1, 2006 · This is a top notch Star Trek novel. I believe Federation, Strangers from the Sky, and First Frontier are the best TOS novels. Just like those other 2 novels, Federation beautifully intertwines multiple storylines. The interplay between the characters is just what you would expect it to be. It was great to a backstory on Zefram Cochrane.

Feb 24, 2013 · Federation manages to present the meeting of the generations in a very unique and surprising way, while still maintaining the integrity of the timeline. In Generations, everyone wanted to see the two Enterprises meeting in space, and Federation manages that feat. It is a truly inspired moment in the novel, and incredibly thrilling in its execution.
