The episode opens in a dark, musky bar on Unification Day - the day celebrating the final victory of the Alliance, giving them control of all the settled worlds.
Synopsis. Inside a bar, Mal, Jayne, and Zoe are playing Chinese checkers when a man stands up and proposes a toast to Unification Day, the day the Alliance (the government) won out over the Independents (otherwise known as Browncoats) and united all the planets under their rule.
