Florence Eldridge (born Florence McKechnie, September 5, 1901 – August 1, 1988) was an American actress. She was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 1957 for her performance in Long Day's Journey into Night.
Florence's most celebrated performance came late in her career, on Broadway, as drug-addicted Mary, half of the battling Tyrones, in Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey into Night" (1956). For this, she won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award as Best Actress.

A highly respected actress and half of a famous theatrical couple, Florence Eldridge was born in Brooklyn and made her New York debut in the chorus of Jerome Kern's musical Rock-a-Bye Baby (1919). Within three years' time, she was the toast of Broadway.
A celebrated stage performer, Florence Eldridge made her screen debut in 1923's "Six Cylinder Love." She subsequently performed in several films and plays opposite her husband Fredric March, including the Broadway premiere of "Long Day's Journey Into Night" (1956).
