From the Depths of Time is the debut album by Danish progressive power metal band Avian. It was released on 21 October 2005 by Nightmare Records and was remixed and remastered in 2006 with art enhancements inside the booklet. The album features American vocalist Lance King and then-former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson.

Avian is an American heavy metal band founded in 2002 by guitarist Yan Leviathan. Musically, they are influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, HammerFall, Savatage, and Megadeth . In 2005, the band released their debut album From the Depths of Time, a concept album dealing with the end of days and a warning to mankind.

Jan 20, 2006 · As far as influences for this album, Iron Maiden can definitely be heard here as well as more modern day Power Metal bands. A few of the highlights of the album are the two instrumentals which is a surprise, but Jonah just rips it up so hard on those two tracks.
What follows is actually a rudimentary, slow paced, orthodox 80s heavy metal groove that largely coasts along before suddenly kicking up to a faster tempo. “The Depths Of Time” has more of a symphonic character to its intro, but follows a similar concept of starting off ambitiously and then settling into a grooving USPM feel.
Avian is a new band formed by guitarist and songwriter Yan Leviathan and features some high profile musicians in its ranks. Dave Ellefson provided his talents for this album along with Lance King and Jonah Weingarten from Pyramaze.
