Gammaproteobacteria consists of human pathogens (e.g., Pseudomonas aeruginosa Salmonella, Vibrio, and Yersinia,); some genera are methane oxidizers and some genera are in symbiosis with hydrothermal vent dwelling animals. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a stringently aerobic, nonfermenting motile bacterium.
