    Gene Barry. Actor. 13 June 1919 to 9 December 2009. An actor who made his name in film before enjoying success on television, Barry was the hero of George Pal’s The War of the Worlds (1953). He went on to play title roles in such popular series as Bat Masterson (1958-61), Amos Burke, Secret Agent (1963-66) and The Adventurer (1972-73).
