Eugene "Gene" Martynec (born 28 March 1947) is a Canadian musician, composer and record producer. Career. Martynec first came to prominence as a guitarist in Toronto group Bobby Kris & The Imperials in August 1965.

Aug 29, 2013 · Producer Gene Martynec won a Producer of the Year Juno Award for his work on “High School Confidential.” The song was ranked the 38th greatest Canadian song of all time on the 2005 CBC Radio One series 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version. “High School Confidential” was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on 10 September 2020.

Martynec, Gene (28th March 1947-Present) He is a musician born in Germany who was first with Bobby Kris & The Imperials in August 1965 and left them in May 1967 to form the group Kensington Market. In 1973 he became a member of the group Edward Bear and stayed with them approximately a year leaving around 1974.
